Weather & Backup Plans

September falls in both the rainy season and the wider Atlantic hurricane season. Brief showers are normal — but for boat trips, marine conditions matter far more than a little rain on land.

Our Backup Priority Order

  1. Protect Saona Island — it's the hardest excursion to reschedule, so it gets first priority if weather looks questionable.
  2. Move Scuba Doo to Saturday if Wednesday gets cancelled.
  3. Move the ATV tour to Saturday or Sunday if Monday turns stormy.
  4. Fall back on bowling or villa time if it's a genuine heavy-rain day.

Quick facts: It's Atlantic hurricane season and the DR's rainy season. Showers tend to be brief. For boat-based days (Saona Island, Scuba Doo), sea conditions are the real thing to watch — not just whether it's drizzling on land.
